As described in our constitution, the primary purpose of government is to protect life and liberty. We should always strive to keep our Local, State, and Federal Governments as small as possible and be good stewards of that responsibility. Every legislator has an inherent responsibility to limit government interference of our great citizens while protecting life, liberty and the happiness of the citizen.

Per our US Constitution, the purpose of our Federal Government can be found in the preamble of the Constitution, Here is what it says:

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our posterity.”

Per the Georgia constitution, the purpose of our State Government can be found in the preamble of the Georgia Constitution. Here is what it says:

To perpetuate the principles of free government, insure justice to all, preserve peace, promote the interest and happiness of the citizen and of the family, and transmit to posterity the enjoyment of liberty…
